Please take notice that the Town of Hampden, on May 26th, 2026, enacted the Ordinance 2026-18, being titled the Town of Hampden Data Center Temporary Moratorium Ordinance.
This ordinance includes a temporary 12‑month moratorium on data centers due to the potential strain these facilities may place on local capacity, public services, and infrastructure. An additional six‑month extension may be considered if needed. This pause will allow the township sufficient time to evaluate the impacts of data centers on the community and to develop zoning ordinances that safeguard township roads, resources, and residents.
