Nestled in the scenic countryside of Columbia County, the Town of Hampden offers a proud legacy that traces back to its earliest settlement in 1844. The town was officially organized in 1846, and its name was chosen in honor of the great English patriot, John Hampden. Rich in heritage and strong in community spirit, Hampden has grown from a small prairie settlement into a vibrant rural township.
